New Year ; New You

new year ; new you

A whole new year. 12 chapters. 365 NEW pages. A chance to start fresh and take a hold of whatever may have held you back in 2017. This is a chance for a new year ; new you.

A lot of people set resolutions of things they want to accomplish in the *new year*. I am not one of those people. Quite frankly, I don’t set resolutions because I can never follow through with them! Instead this year I decided to choose a WORD of the year. A word to focus on and a word that reflects what I want 2018 to be about. My word of the year is FORWARD.

FORWARD holds a lot of meaning for me as I enter in to 2018. Last year I started out on the adventure I called Right Meow or Never and I didn’t slow down once I pressed go! I did spend a lot of time reflecting on what I could have done different and what I could have changed but that does not do anyone any good. I decided that in order to grow my business and blog that I really need to focus on the FORWARD. Where do I want to go? Where do I want to be at the end of this NEW year? What changes do I implement to continue to create the successful venture? I need to focus on questions that propel me FORWARD and stop focusing on things behind me.

As most of you know, I branched out and created another area of Right Meow or Never when I launched my Etsy page where I sell hand-stamped jewelry and accessories. I never really intended to open my own shop, but God had other plans and I have been SO blessed to see how quickly it has grown. Initially I was just selling to a few friends and family and then BOOM! The business expanded and grew right before my eyes. I am excited about where 2018 is going to take this side-business and the opportunities it can provide my family.

Financially speaking, my word FORWARD is specifically related to our most recent decision to take the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University course through our church. We are going to focus on moving FORWARD and stop regretting bad financial decisions. Nothing can be done about those now! We have to propel ourselves forward with gazelle intensity (Dave fans will get this!) and pay off those debts so we can enjoy financial freedom! I am currently 38 weeks pregnant and baby #4 (gender is a surprise) is making their appearance ANY day now. With that comes unpaid maternity leave. I could go on about this for HOURS, but I will just say that is absolutely SUCKS. No new mother should feel bad about taking time off of work for financial reasons once they have a baby. But, it is what it is. Since being on the Dave Ramsey plan we have focused our efforts financially in a way that will really make this more manageable and we will just continue pushing FORWARD the best we can!

What is your word of the year?

P.S. I have these AWESOME *Word of The Year* bracelets for sale through my Etsy shop! Get your HERE!
