Planned Pethood of GA

What is Planned Pethood?

I have taken this information straight from their Facebook Page: Planned PEThood is a 501(c0(3) nonprofit animal welfare organization based in Duluth, GA. They are dedicated to helping pets and the people who care for them with innovative programs and affordable services.

How many animals do they help?

Each year they help around 5,000 owned dogs and cats as well as stray cats by offering a low-cost spay/neuter clinic. They also offer monthly (sometimes more frequently) vaccine clinics that benefit over 1,000 dogs and cats in the community. Rescuing and re-homing is their game – and they help over 750 animals each year through their adoptions!

Do they have a facility where they keep the rescued animals?

No! They actually have a large group of wonderful fosters who house the dogs and cats in their homes until they find their furrever homes. Sometimes this can be a long-term commitment but each foster is dedicated to giving the cat or dog the best life until they have their new family. Some of their kittens come in and even have to be bottle fed every 3 hours – through the night!

How can they offer such low costs for vaccines and spay/neuter?

Planned Pethood is a non-profit organization, they strive to keep their overhead costs AND rely a lot on donations! They have a “house cat” named Biscuit who is always sharing his wish list and inspecting the donations 🙂
