Fingerprint Reindeer Mug
If you are anything like me you procrastinate on Christmas gifts until the week before… which is never a good thing for me as a working mom because that means I have literally NO time to get anything done. I also stress over what to even get the grandparents and great-grandparents from the kiddos because Pinterest has me second guessing my mom-ing skills. Seriously, ain’t nobody got time for half the crap those moms are pinning AND what mom is able to get their little kids to make such neat crafts.
My kids are 2 years and 9 months old – craft time with them is about as easy as trying to walk all five of my cats on a leash… The 2 year old wants to paint EVERYTHING but said craft and the 9 month old thinks it is snack time. I set out this year to try and find a craft that was simple enough for me to get done in about 10 minutes TOTAL because after that the kids are done.
I bought plain white mugs at Walmart for about 2.88 each. I decided to skip the dollar store because I wanted the grandparents to get some REAL use out of these mugs and I needed them to be sturdy. I found the inspiration on Pinterest (I know, *eyeroll*) but I conceded that it would not be as pretty as the picture.
I did five fingerprints of my 2 year old and three of the 9 month old. That was all I needed on each mug! The rest I used paint pens and did it myself without kiddo interruption. I think they actually turned out really cute. Save this for next year and get it done earlier than a week before Christmas!
